Greatopia’s Colac & Otways

Greatopia’s Colac & Otways

When escaping to Greatopia and journeying down the Great Ocean Road you will be immersed in the small country culture only regional towns can offer.

To experience the true country style hospitality of Greatopia, eat your way along the Otway Harvest Trail which has a range of breweries and wineries, markets and farmgates with artisan producers and growers serving up a foodie paradise. Eat at the many cafes or restaurants on offer or create your own picnic in the park at Colac bontanical gardens.

If adventure is more your style then look no further than Treetops Adventure, Yeodene. You will be soaring through the messmate trees of the Otway Forest in no time. Ride through the air on a pegasus or relive your playground days on the 15m high monkey bars. Featuring a double-story ‘Home Tree’ deck, Treetops Adventure Yeodene gives climbers and spectators a 360-degree birds-eye view of this rustic forest.

Stay

Would you rather breathe that fresh country air? The Roost provides an escape in the beachside rural setting of Johanna, only a short stroll from the iconic Johanna Beach. Picture waking up to panoramic views of rolling green hills and sparkling waters. The hardest decision you’ll have to make here is whether to make tracks to the Otways or the coast.

Redwoods Rest sits high on the ridge line with sweeping view over farmlands, forests and out to the Southern Ocean in the central Otway town, Beech Forest. Designed for couples Redwoods Rest cabins are perfect for a romantic getaway or to simply let nature refresh your soul.

Play

Here in the Otways you can lose yourself in the tranquillity of the area. Wander through the Californian Redwoods, the Colac Botanical Gardens and Lake Colac, the Otway Harvest Trail, or the Great Ocean Walk. Amble to Beauchamp Falls, Cape Otway Lightstation, Red Rock Lookout or spot a platypus at Lake Elizabeth.
