1. Waterfalls
They flow all year round and there is plenty to discover in the Otways.
2. Treetop walks & ziplining
Treetop walks are one of the best Otways activities. Walk 25 metres above the ground or fly through the trees on a zipline tour 30 metres off the ground.
3. The local wildlife residents
Spot koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, echidnas, glow worms, the Otways black snail… even the elusive platypus! Check out the local wildlife around the Otways. It’s also a bird lover’s paradise and over the winter months, the Otways is a great place for whale watching.
4. Cape Otway Lightstation
This is Australia’s most famous lighthouse where you’ll enjoy spectacular views from the Lighthouse Balcony and maybe even a scone from the lighthouse cafe — yum!
5. The beaches
Take your pick of one of the many pristine beaches along the Otway Coast. Go kayaking, snorkelling, diving, surfing or even make the trip out to the local seal colony.

The Otways is a great place to explore vast volcanic landscapes and is home to Australia youngest volcano — Red Rock, the third-largest volcanic plain in the world.

An 85-year-old plantation of spectacular Californian Redwoods sits on the banks of the Aire River. Experience the feeling of awe as you wander amongst these majestic trees.
9. Great Ocean Walk
This is a 100km one-way walk between Apollo Bay and the 12 Apostles. The 12 Apostles are one of the region’s highlights — a trip to the Otways is not complete without seeing this amazing natural attraction.
10. Horse riding or mountain biking
Another active Otways activity! The Otways is an ideal location for jumping on your bike or hopping on the back of a horse. There is a huge number of roads and tracks to choose from and both are exhilarating ways to make your way through the national park.
